1st International Seminar on Intellectual Property

The seminar which will run from 1st to 4th September 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand aims to bring greater awareness on the importance of the legal protection of Intellectual Property for Scouting. In particular, protection of trademarks (name, logos and emblems) and copyright material (such as publications and photos). It is organized jointly by the World Scout Bureau/ Central Office - Geneva together with Asia- Pacific Regional Office.

Objectives:
1. To provide information on what is Intellectual Property (IP)
2. Discuss the steps in protecting IP and its advantages
3. Share information on International IP Law
4. Share best practices in Scouting on IP

Fees: The fee is US$100.00, which will cover inland transportation food, accommodation, seminar documents and educational tour.

Participants: This workshop is proposed to gather a maximum of 50 national and sub-national level leaders who are involved in the management of the organization. Leaders connected to Scout supplies, literature, organization policy and procedures.

Seminar staff: The course staff will be composed of experienced Scout Leaders from across the world and from the host country. Non Scout Resource persons may be invited to handle special topics.
